It has mostly positive reviews on BestBuy.com, and normally sells for around $140. According to a Western Digital forum, people say it has a 5TB hard drive inside, model WD50EZRZ, which normally sells for around $180. If you do want an internal hard drive or a drive for your docking station, theoretically it would be possible to buy this external 5TB drive for $110, open it up with a screwdriver, take out the WD50EZRZ, and you save yourself about $70 on an internal 5TB 5400rpm hard drive. Doing this could void the hard drive's 2-year warranty, however. |
