Customers like the quality of the countertop oven. They say it does a great job at cooking everything they've tried in it, including toasting bread nicely and pretty quick. It's super quiet, and it bakes donuts beautifully in 8 minutes. The fan is centered above the oven, so it cooks evenly. Customers also like that it can proof, dehydrate, and slow cook in addition to essential air. They also say it makes the best crispy chicken wings, best fries, and brussels sprouts.

Customers are mixed about the ease of use of the countertop oven. Some mention that it is super easy to use and because of its size, they rarely heat up their large oven. The smart cooking features are easy touse and seem to work pretty well. However, others say that it's not easy to program your own personal settings, the user manual is bare minimum, and it was a real pain to get the layers set up.

However, others say that it does seem to cook hotter than a regular oven, the control panel gets uncomfortably warm to the touch when it runs, and it could take 5 minutes to reach temperature. Some complain that the bake feature does not melt chilled or frozen cheese the same as a normal oven, and that the preheat feature is awesome, but it does not have a lot of presets.

Customers are mixed about the size of the countertop oven. Some mention that it's a great size and looks like a miniature stove, while others say that the large size occupies a lot of counter space. It has fully customizable settings, and has a large capacity. However, some say that it shimmers to the back of the air and that they can't fit their small roaster pan in there with the lid on.

Review of Instant Omni Plus Version One (26 L) (3 stars and I sent it back)
So, I have to interject a real complaint here. There are two important sets of measurements for a countertop oven: the outside so you know if you have space on your counter, and the inside, so you know what quantities and sizes of food you can cook or bake and what size pans will fit. Nowhere could I find the inside measurements, let alone the usable space inside the oven. And of course what I did not count on was the huge amount of space it took to have both a bottom and a top heating element.
Still, I decided to do a test with identical very simple yellow layer cakes. Each was made identically, even to mixing in the eggs for the same amount of time. I used four pans that were the same, each greased and then with parchment rounds. I had to "mickey-mouse" a couple of racks for the two pans since the oven had only one rack. I baked them at two different times so as not to blow a fuse in my kitchen. And the winner was! the combo convection/microwave! I used convection only, and yes, the bottom layer baked a bit more slowly and so when the top layer was done and nicely browned I removed it and put the oven on for five minutes more so the bottom layer could rise a tiny bit more and brown. That cake was light and fluffy just as those old-fashioned one bowl cakes are supposed to be. The Omni cake was good. It tasted just as good as the other, but it baked faster, didn't brown as evenly although it had heat on the bottom as well as the top, and did not rise as much. It was just more condensed and less fluffy. It was also a real pain to get the layers set up and removed because it was such a tight fit. It didn't look as pretty or frost up as nicely, although the slices were firm and easy to cut because of that. So not a failure, but not a real success either.
I don't really need another microwave, and the controls on the Omni are much easier to see and use, but I can't really see the point of the Omni if I can't bake at least a two layer cake in it. My smaller Instant Pot Vortex is fine for air frying.
So now I'm thinking of saving up for a convection wall oven with a baking feature, and sending the Omni back. For me, it's at best a three star when contrasting it with the combo convection/microwave, but I'm sure for others who aren't avid bakers of three layer cakes (so two layers was a compromise!) it is a five star. And please, Instant Pot, show the measurements for the usable space inside this towering oven!
An afterword to this long review! I decided on one more test: toasted cheese sandwiches. Those are always a pain in an Air Fryer with no toast function, since you have to turn them to get them brown on both sides. Sadly, the Omni failed here as well! I made the sandwiches, placed them on the rack and pressed the "Toast" program. After repeating that THREE times, they were still not brown. So I gave up and pressed "Air Fry" and had to turn them to get them brown on both sides. So no point to a toaster oven that doesn't toast!
Review of Instant Omni Plus Version Two (17 L): Four Stars because the rack is too narrow and falls off.
April 2021 Update: I have now received for review a new edition of this Instant Pot Omni Oven Plus. I'm not sure what to do about a review, since there is no separate review site for it, and I stand by my review for the one I purchased and returned. When I go to the description on Amazon and try to write a review, it returns me to the review I wrote for the earlier version I purchased and returned. This version seems to have solved many of the problems I wrote about. For one thing, It did an OK job of toasting six slices of bread, and has a specific toast program. It seems to be shorter than the other one outside but the same on the inside, so I still can't make a two layer cake in it, but I did make some biscuits and the baking program worked OK. The biggest improvement is the way it is controlled. I really love the one knob in the center, and then touching the various programs, and turning the knob left or right to change something like the temperature or the time. Very intuitive and easy. Also, there is a control for turning on the light. I don't like the fact that Instant Pot doesn't include at least some sort of guide for a few standard items, and I wish they would make a second rack available, even if it would need to be purchased. Until I can use it for more things I would give it 4 stars for sure -- probably 4 1/2. So glad to have this improved model and I am retiring or giving away my trusty Instant Pot Vortex.
Mid-July update: I had a problem with the rack falling off because it's a bit too narrow (or maybe it's that the projections on the sides of the oven don't protrude quite far enough!) I complained, and Instant Pot sent me a new rack. Thank you, Instant Pot! That is the kind of customer service I remember from the original owner of the Instant Pot brand. (Sadly, it didn't solve the problem, so I think my oven is actually a tiny bit wide perhaps. But at least the second rack means I can bring one to our machine shop and experiment with ways to add some width to it. I was afraid to do that before, because I didn't want to take a chance of ruining the one rack I had.) One other person appeared to have this same problem, so maybe it is the width of the oven -- it could be 1/16 inch wider at that point, strange as that sounds.
Review of Instant Pot Plus Oven Version Three (17 L - 14 programs). Five Stars (10 if that were possible!) (See photos for version):
July 27 update: Hurrah! I was worried that when Instant Pot sold out to another company -- even a reputable one -- we would lose out on wonderful customer service, but I have to say -- GOLD STAR! I didn't ask IP to replace my oven, but guess what appeared at my front door today? Yes, a brand new Instant Pot oven! It seems that Instant Pot has revamped the oven once again, and this time, it's a slam dunk 10 star winner. And I was right about the rack. The new rack is about 1/16 inch wider, and it doesn't fall off or budge when you place it in the oven -- and it sits just as firmly in the second oven i got, the one with the dial in the center that I love so much. So it was a "defective" rack, and they listened to me and perhaps others and fixed an important defect. (I did see one other review that mentioned the rack falling off). While they were at it, they fixed one more thing I thought was a mistake -- they added back the proof function that they had removed. But here is something completely new that I don't think any other oven has. They added a probe so you can choose an interior temperature for something like a steak, and it will cook to that temperature! Since I love rare steak, I know I'll love that!
The one thing I don't like is that they removed the knob that I loved, and instead you touch the surface to change the temperature and the time. For me, it's partly aesthetic. The oven just doesn't have the nice sleek look it did, but also, I just found it more efficient to turn the knob rather than having to continuously touch the surface to get to the temperature or time I want. I think it's less efficient. Oh well, win some, lose some -- I won a rack that doesn't fall down, the ability to cook steak or roast with a probe, proofing for my bread, and one thing i didn't mention, split cooking, where you can choose two different modes, one after the other. (Hey, Instant Pot -- any chance of adding a water reservoir for steam?)
Folks, this is an air fryer/toaster oven on steroids. Instant Pot, thank you so much for sending it to me. I'll be telling everyone about it! Since I review many items as a Vine Voice, I have probably tried out six different air fryers. I only have one that rivals the Instant Pot in terms of both size, ability to reach 450 degrees, and convenience for baking, but now, with the proofing and the probe, I have to say Instant Pot is the star of all the air fryers I have been privileged to review!

Pros:
- The air-fry feature works great, and we generally use it for bacon, wings, and chicken tenders. I'm sure we could do much more, but so far it's been a champ. Even, predictable cooking across the board.
- Toast: this was a must-have for my wife, and the reason we sent back the other Instant Vortex I had first purchased. Needs to do everyting a toaster over does, and this one meets the challenge.
- Bake, Roast, Reheat: all of these perform as expected, but with the nice, large space available, convection process, and the tools to work with (such as drip/bake pan, rack, and airfry basket), it's hard to not get an even result.
Cons:
- It is very true that you need to leave some air space around the unit, as it does produce quite a bit of heat. Expect your cabinets and hardware, if you have any above the unit, to get pretty warm to the touch.
- As mentioned by others, the instructions/recipes leave a lot to be desired. However, just do a google search and there's a ton of support and options out there.
- Have to watch the time/temp settings. Once you change a time/temp setting for a preset (e.g. airfry chicken and adjust the default time or temp), that is the new setting, so you can't assume the time/temp that comes up for your item of choice will work. Get used to your own settings as you use them.
Product Quality:
- After about 4 months of use, the bolt that holds/guides the door arm popped out. It appears the nut came apart inside the body of the unit, and now the door won't close properly. Bummed this happened so quickly, but Instant Brands CS promptly processed a full replacement unit. Clearly they stand by their products.
