Details: | Inspiron 2650C laptop computer, 1.6GHz 256MB, for $624 Dell Inspiron 2650C is a 1.6 GHz laptop computer with 14.1" LCD screen and 256MB memory. Configure the machine with 256MB of memory, a free upgrade from 128MB. That memory upgrade says it invalidates the mail-in rebate, but there is no mail-in rebate afterall. Price after 15% off code 95895C34C7C6 comes to $594, free shipping, but mandatory sales tax may bring your purchase price to around $624. ![]() Update: It looks like you can change the 256MB memory option to 512MB memory by adding only $50 to the purchase price. Normally Dell charges a lot more to upgrade a laptop from 256MB to 512MB. Again, there is no apparent rebate on this product because it looks like they just take off $150 from the purchase price instead of offering a $150 mail-in rebate. Ignore all mentions of a configuration option not qualifying for a rebate, because there is no rebate. ![]() Update: One person sent me this mail-in rebate form which says $200 mail-in rebate, however with no mention of a $200 mail-in rebate on the product details it is possible Dell will not honor the $200 rebate. However, you could try submitting it and see what happens. It's your choice though - if you choose options that clearly state "mail-in rebate not available" and submit a rebate form, I doubt they would accept it. But if you don't choose "mail-in rebate no available" options, I fear they may not honor this rebate because there's no mention of it on the laptop's configuration page. ![]() Update (Feb 21 6pm): One person agrees with me that it's less of a risk to just do the configuration options that invalidate the rebate, as he stated in these comments. |
