This deal was around a few days ago, now it's back and a little better than before. Before there was a $50 mail-in rebate, free CD-RW drive, and 40GB hard drive. Now there is a $100 mail-in rebate, no free CD-RW, but a 80GB hard drive. It is a very good deal on a new computer! Click the above link to configure a Dell Dimension 4600 with 533MHz front side bus. I configured one as follows:
  • Pentium4 processor at 2.4GHz with 533MHz bus

When added to cart, the above configuration came to $614. Automatic 10% discount applies in the cart, bringing it to $533 with free shipping. Add sales tax, which could bring that price to around $580. Don't forget to send in the $100 mail-in rebate.

If you need a monitor, I strongly recommend adding the 17" E171FP LCD flatpanel monitor for $250, a price which can be added to the computer's configuration (replacing the "no monitor" option with the E171FP monitor). That is a great price on the E171FP, the best I've seen! The 18" 1800FP LCD is available for $400, and the 20" for $840, both are excellent prices too.

You will probably want to upgrade the computer's memory and add a CD-RW drive. There are lots of CD-RW drive deals on the Hot Deals Club site. For memory, a pair of 256MB Crucial.com memory for $94 would increase the computer's memory to 768MB. Note that this computer's DDR memory must be installed in pairs.
