Lyft is a competitor to Uber, and works like a taxi service. Lyft has been less controversial than Uber, and most drivers we met enjoy driving for Lyft.

If you like meeting people, consider choosing Lyft's "Line" option (if available in your area) which shares your ride with other passengers. It saves a few dollars off the regular rides, and adds a speed-dating for friendships experience where other people in your neighborhood share your ride along the route. We often choose Line when using Lyft, and have met a lot of great people while getting to our destination.
