Only valid when you select from the list of participating restaurants during purchase. Be sure to read the restrictions of use for each certificate, because many cannot be used on a Friday or Saturday night, some may require 2 or 4 people at your table, most cannot be used toward alcohol, and nearly all of them require dine-in (no takeout).

Be sure to tell the server that you have a Restaurant.com dining certificate before they ring up the final bill.

Be sure to leave gratuity (the tip) on what the full bill amount would be BEFORE the certificate is applied. For example, if you apply a $25 certificate on a $30 bill, while your final bill to the restaurant would be $5, the server would expect a gratuity of around 15% to 20% on the original $30.
